In the world of streaming, it’s hard to have missed the sulfurous PewDiePie, the giant of streaming in video games who is already familiar with the workings of crypto thanks in particular to a DLive promotion. He recently promoted an augmented reality application where it is possible to gain crypto.
PewDiePie and cryptos
The love between crypto and PewDiePie had already begun with the promotion in 2018 of a failed crypto project. After that, we were given another promotional video of the DLive streaming service, but above all to highlight the TRON network.
Following this event, Youtube signed an exclusivity contract with him a few weeks later obliging him to leave DLive.
This brief but noticeable move into the world of crypto was more of a wake-up call, drawing attention to the fact that streamers are more interested in crypto than Justin Sun’s blockchain can develop a useful project.
Wallem: Virtual reality and NFTs
After a long year-long silence on the crypto scene and a probably deserved Youtube break after the various controversies that animated the character, PewDiePie returns to the forefront with an announcement that is sure to ride the wave again.
After a streaming platform, “Youtube’s king” is now promoting a virtual reality game reminiscent of the concept of Pokemon Go: Wallem. The gameplay doesn’t change much: having to go for a ride in town to collect tokens on the way. But beware, these tokens obtained in the application will only be used inside it.
If you wish to exchange and sell these tokens, you will have to go through a DEX because the token is not yet listed. As for the question of whether it is possible to retrieve the other cryptos that you will be able to win in the game, it remains intact.
Concerning the NFTs, they will take the form of “skins” to customize your avatar in the game. There will be one which, you guessed it, will take the colors of PewDiePie. The price of the skin is not yet announced, but we know that it will be available via the Rarible marketplace.
