What’s the main reason for using the Polygon/MATIC network?

In the whitepaper, it says the Elemental Knights core users are smartphone version users. Will you use the same strategy of targeting mainly smartphone users? It also says to start the game is free for all users and MetaMask will be only needed at later times for transferring rewards. That will attract many to join the game I believe.
